Once we got through our intimidation and finally contacted Andy Dixon via the email form on his website, commissioning was the easy part. When we first reached out, his studio assistant told us that a commission would be unlikely. After a couple months, Andy himself got back in touch via email and asked if we were still interested in a commission. From there it was just waiting out his current gallery contract so he could start on the work. We sent him the first payment, then after a month, he sent an email letting me know my work was up next. We sent a follow-up email two months later and he sent me a message that the work was complete. Just like that, the whole process only took about four months. Which is crazy fast.
