This is one of my favorite commissioned works. It is also one of the first that I was allowed so much input into the design and planning process. I followed Sarah’s work for quite a few years, I am not super impulsive with our art purchase and commission decisions. Sarah was easy to get in touch thru her website, as she actually responds to her contact form (many artists don’t). Sarah had a lot of experience doing commissions which you can see from our communication. I actually was not looking to commission a work originally. I really wanted something ready made. However, she was so nice to work with that this was not as stressful as my previous experiences. I wanted an oval shape, so I had to find and send an oval panel to Sarah in Canada. I think it’s important to note, commissioning requires a lot of work & communication for you and the artist. It also requires a clear vision of what you want and for you to be flexible . Sarah was a delight to work with and the result is a truly beautiful work.
