The work above was a commissioned piece. I reached out to a gallery representing Lana to find out the availability of a piece of Lana’s work after seeing it on artsy.net but I was heart broken to find that it had sold. That gallery contact was helpful because it provided a price for the work that sold which let me know that I could afford her price range. Shortly after I got up the gumption to reach out to Lana to request a commission via the contact webform on her website and she contacted me back pretty fast (This only happens with 1 out of 3 of the artist I reach out to). Shortly hashed out my commission, design, cost, elements, payments, exchange rate, shipping and duties. Lana is a jewel and very kind, she let me have a lot of feedback on design elements and worked with me on every detail. Not all artist will allow this level of input in the commission process and design.
