STILL ON THE GO by Anthony White 2018 PLA (polylactic acid) on panel 44” x 44” Tondo format

This commission by Anthony White has grown on us over time… We saw Anthony’s work at the Seattle Art Fair before he was represented by Greg Kucera Gallery. The gallery would not give me any information for Anthony. We only ended up finding Anthony’s website because a friend, found him on Instagram. We requested a still life commission, similar to those we saw. The artist requested an image of some of the objects we might want to appear in the work. There was drama with the gallery, as Greg Kucera was upset that we got the commission started before they signed him. When we saw the commissioned work at first we did not love it. It looked like the complete opposite of the things in the image we sent. We saw another work we really loved in his upcoming show, as our work was going to be included in his first show at Greg Kucera. We requested a commission similar to the figurative work we liked, Anthony was interested but the gallery tried to under price, Still On The Go. They planned to collect a commission for the new work and for selling my work while under pricing that work. It felt predatory! We did not want to deal with the Greg Kucera Gallery at all, so we decided not to go ahead with the new work. Much to our regret as Anthony White is an incredibility talented artist and a lovely person.
